There was no “Red Wave,” Idiots

I must say, I hadn’t planned on saying anything concerning the 2022 midterms until this morning, when I looked at The New Yorker’s election results map and found myself rather disappointed. Seeing that Georgia was predicted to re-elect Dem Senator Raphael Warnock was especially concerning, although it now seems that Georgia is going to have another run off election to decide who to send to the Senate. Lee Zeldin lost New York, which isn’t surprising at all as New York is full of delusional leftists. Kari Lake isn't running away with Arizona, and for some reason Pennsylvanians decided that John Fetterman is a good choice for Senator even though he can barely string a sentence together.

I gotta say, I was hoping for more Republican victories than we got. We conservatives will be lucky if we can get 52 Senate seats (we’d need Georgia to turn red, plus Alaska and Nevada to elect Republicans.) The GOP will probably win the House by a few seats, which will put a bit of a damper on whatever nonsense the Dems will try to push through to President Biden. But really, the 2022 midterms almost feel like they’ll change literally nothing. Business will go on as usual: inflation will continue to skyrocket, gas will still be $4, $5, even $6 per gallon, and nothing will be done any differently concerning the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The reality is, all the talk show hosts, late night pundits, and Fox News anchors were wrong. There was no red wave.

That’s not to say that all is lost. Yet. There is one crucial lesson the GOP can learn from the midterms. Dump Trump.

Trump served a purpose, he got a lot done. But Trump is like a drug for the GOP. He’s so appealing yet so deadly. No moderate will vote for him; if the Republican party actually wants to win in 2024 they need to get rid of Trump and find someone who will cater to not just Republicans. The GOP needs to find someone who will cater to everyday Americans, Americans who want cheap gas, Americans who want to be able to buy necessities and afford niceties too. The reason why the Dems didn’t lose much this election is because the GOP is still the party of Trump. Trump frightens moderates. The Dems told moderates that all GOP candidates are essentially Trump 2.0, and thus scared them into voting blue. Therefore, the Republican Party must focus on drawing in everyday Americans, not just MAGA fans. If they don’t, the GOP will lose in 2024 and every election after that so long as they’re still the party of Trump. The GOP needs to get rid of him and replace him with someone better. Trump can cry and whine and call names as much as he wants, but he is hurting the GOP and by extension the everyday American, who now must suffer under at least two more years of liberal insanity. The Republicans need to get rid of him ASAP, and until they do, they will continue to lose, and Americans will continue to suffer.
